I've been avoiding this thread since I first saw it posted but have finally read it.
I'm truly sickened by what he did.
There was a dog knocked over near where I lived 20 years ago and I found him. He wasn't dying but he was in a bad way. It was late evening and hardly anyone around so I stayed with him whilst a neighbour phoned for help. Eventually a vet turned up (think the Police contacted him) and I was told not to go near him as his pain could have made him bite (despite the fact that I had stayed with him for almost half an hour).
My point is that surely you would want to protect and/or comfort rather than what this bastard did?
