Man Stabbed with ‘Master Sword’ in Domestic Dispute
Two men quarrel over a woman that may or may not be named Zelda.
by Colin MoriartyMarch 3, 2014Submit Tweet Share +1 Share Just because a sword is considered a “replica” doesn’t mean it’s not dangerous. Texas news site Click2Houston is reporting on a “bizarre” domestic dispute involving two men, a woman, and the Master Sword from The Legend of Zelda.

“According to deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office,” the website reports, “[Eugene] Thompson lives at home with his girlfriend and said Saturday night they got into an argument. That’s when his girlfriend called her estranged husband, who stopped by the house around 10 p.m.”

Upon the arrival of the (maybe ex) husband, Thompson’s girlfriend let the man into the house, where he began chasing Thompson around. To protect himself, Thompson wielded his still-sharp replica of the Master Sword. The “estranged husband” ran directly into the blade when chasing Thompson.

Injured, the man chasing Thompson was thrown out of the house. But the man purportedly “broke through the front door and ran back into the house.”

“Deputies said the two men fought over the sword and in the scuffle, the estranged husband was stabbed – once in the chest and once in the leg. Thompson said the man grabbed a flower pot from outside and smashed it over his head.”

Thompson’s injuries were minor – he got some stiches from an injury caused by the flower pot – while the unnamed “estranged husband” is in serious condition at a local hospital.

Well then.

Hmm...I need more info. before I reach a verdict. Was the flower pot real or a replica?

I've never heard of a master sword before.

I can remember before we had 'master' bedrooms in houses. How can a bedroom exert mastery?

And who thought up such a silly name?

I'm guessing it might be specific to Legends of Zelda. Never played the game, but thought the plant-pot guy might have been able to use some kind of spell to repel the sword?
