Plays a huge part in being a successful manager?
Ask yourself would it hinder your performance at McDonald's if you couldn't understand what your manager says, this may or may not help with your problem .....a xenophobic racist bigot on the other hand would have a problem with any accent/voice different from his own methinks.

That's miles away from the point i was making. There is alot of scottish managers enjoying success at the moment and has been lots in the past, infact the majorty of the greatest managers in this country have been Scottish (Busby, Ferguson, Shankley, Stein) and the scottish accent to me is one where you listen properly to it and it has a certain aura about it.

I guess it comes under personality but i can't think of a successful manager who had a boring voice.

So by your logic we should hire Brian Blessed and we'd win the prem., chumps league and everything else?

The manager with the most boring voice was Frank Clarke.Fuck me that geezer was dull.He made Alan Ball sound like Timmy Mallett.I fell out with Clarke after a certain interviewer asked him a question about the team and he said 'don't look at me i'm only the manager',think he ended up being a spokesperson for the managers association.OH the irony!

Of course not, you need the talent and ability to be a successful manager, that's the main thing, but i'm talking about the kind of personality to express those talents and managerial abilities and the main and probably only way to express those talents and managerial ability skills is vocally. I think Steve McClaren is an excellent coach but i can't stand his voice and i'd hate to play under him but someone like Bobby Robson who had a wondersul voice that just made you stand/sit still and listen to him intensely.
