A lot of Blue Moon regulars have asked me when "Manchester A Football History" is to be updated.
I've been working on the book over recent months and am now expecting that the book will be published during December. The aim is to have printed copies available for despatch to subscribers before Christmas.
The publishers are finalising their schedule and have re-opened the subscriber offer to allow people to buy the book for £20 (RRP £24.95) if ordered before 17th October 2010.
Their final production details won't be known for a couple of weeks but it is anticipated that we will only publish about 1,000 copies.
Anyone ordering the book direct from the publishers will have the option of having their name printed in the book (as part of a subscriber list). In addition, they can have their favourite "Manchester Match" recorded alongside their name - this could be any game involving a side from the Manchester region (obviously, City & the other League sides but also teams like Hyde, Altrincham, Maine Road etc.).
I'll obviously sign any copies ordered from the publishers.
To order the book payment has to be made via paypal from the website: <a class="postlink" href="http://www.manchesterfootball.org" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.manchesterfootball.org</a>
Further details can be found on that website and on <a class="postlink" href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/James-Ward-Publishing/266700661882?success=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.facebook.com/pages/James-War ... ?success=1</a>
The book will be 528 pages plus 8 colour pages; and the style of the book will be similar to the first edition.
This version includes everything as before, plus material on the last couple of years at all the region's League sides.
For anyone interested in my other books....
There are still a few copies of "The Big Book Of City" available and "Joe Mercer, OBE: Football With A Smile" can also be ordered from the site.
Details on "The Journey: Rebuilding Manchester City" will be released on <a class="postlink" href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/James-Ward-Publishing/266700661882?success=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.facebook.com/pages/James-War ... ?success=1</a> during this football season (become a fan and you'll get the news first).
Thanks,
Gary
