Thought I'd ask some of you seasoned travellers before I book as I've not done the trip before, is £740 return about as good as I'm likely to find?

Had a good look around the usual places online and can't find any cheaper, planning to travel in April, which seems to be the time for better prices anyway.

Cheers in advance.

why the f*ck would you want to go to adelaide?
I was thinking the same thing ,but if you avoid Elizabeth(shithole),and Snowtown for obvious reasons ,you'll probably be fine.
The drinking water tastes like shite,as well.

Cheers for the replies, appreciated.

Stoner, Dubai for just under 2hours.

Lostmehouseki, none of your fuckin business.

Waterloo, got an aunt there, my mums younger sister, she and her family were among the original ten pounders, can remember waving them off when I was a nipper, she's not in the best of health and I don't want to leave it until I have to go over for a funeral, she came over for my wedding 3yrs ago and although I could do without the expense I think it's time to return the compliment.

thanks for the heads up re Snowtown & Elizabeth, will avoid them.

Stay a day to say Hi,,,then come to Melbourne.

I'm not really looking on it as a holiday mate, just a visit, admittedly it's a long way for a visit but that's the way it is, call of duty maybe I don't know. Just feeling a strong urge to go, if I don't then I'll always wish I had, my mum would have wanted me to do the trip for her, that's it really.

Not even considered the socialising/sightseeing side of things tbh, I've 2 cousins there as well, so I'm sure they'll put me right.

What airline is that with?

I have found that it is well worth paying a bit more to go with a decent airline.
I did Melbourne/Stockholm return a couple of years ago with Air China because it was so cheap, i would rather walk it next time than do that again.

I did Schiphol - Bangkok recently on Air China and would happily fly with them again. It was my first time flying 'cheap' as previously I didn't have to consider the expense (too much), but I was really pleasantly surprised. Very modern aircraft with excellent in-flight entertainment. Not much alcohol though.
