Manchester City are chasing Athletic Bilbao superkid Iker Muniain.

The Sunday Mirror says Muniain has been hailed as the biggest talent to emerge in Spanish football for years.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are already casting envious eyes over the youngster, who was recently watched by no fewer than 17 scouts from Europe’s top clubs.

Muniain signed a six-year contract with Bilbao on December 1 and is already being valued at about £30m.

But that won’t deter City from securing first rights on the youngster as they look to build the foundations for the future of the club.

saw him come off the bench last week during a bilbao league game - looked shit hot & scored a goal.

25 games including Champions League games and games against United's first 11. They still only signed him for £12 million.

£30m is massively overpriced for anybody who has yet to play 10 professional games. You're telling me that he's worth more than Adebayor, despite Ade been proven at international, Premiership and CL level?

I could careless how much they spend. The Sheikh has given 500 million as a kitty to sign the top young talent in the the world. They have scouts all over the place doing just this, it's in an article in a different thread, and if they feel he is worth the investment who are we to judge? Besides, it's not any of our money that they are spending. They are doing it to ensure the long term development of the club. I think it's brilliant, and if they feel this young starlet is in that group sign him up.
