Only a small piece but there have been a couple of things now that point towards the possibility of Mancini becoming Italy manager in the summer. He was saying a few weeks back how he'd like to manage the national team although not necessarily as soon as this summer, but there are now indications that the door might be open to him when Lippi steps down after the world cup.
Personally I'd like Mancini to stay on and have a proper go at it here. If he was to leave in the summer I'd be pretty gutted unless we could bring you know who in

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has emerged as a contender to replace Marcello Lippi in charge of the Italian national team when the 61 year-old steps down after the World Cup in South Africa.
The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) is keen to announce a successor to Lippi, who led Italy to the 2006 World Cup, before the start of World Cup 2010.
Cesare Prandelli, of Fiorentina, was their primary target, but he is believed to favour remaining in club football and “90 per cent” certain to take over from caretaker manager Alberto Zaccheroni at Juventus.
That has forced the FIGC to examine other candidates and, though Mancini last week announced his intention to buy a family home in Manchester and sources close to the Italian insist he intends to see out his contract at Eastlands, it is believed Giancarlo Abete, the Italian FA’s president, is confident that Mancini could be tempted to return home.
