Mancini Transfers

I was just wondering how the season might have shaped up had Bobby got his alleged top 2 targets (Van Persie and Hazard) in the previous transfer window? He gets a lot of stick in here, including for the summer transfers, but had he got the 2 he wanted we would not be looking up the table at the scum (in my opinion)

Or if Mancini was getting the most out of out 400 million pound squad then we would be top of the league. I just think its a lame excuse to blame our form on not signing a striker when Mancini has over 100 million pounds worth of attackers in our team and on Hazard when again he has Signed Nasri and Silva.

Do we have to keep bringing up the last transfer window?

Facts are we were well seen off and no amount of post mortems is going to bring back to life the corpses we bought!

We must look forward and accept that duff decision lead to duff outcomes and ensure we only ever buy a max of 2 players in summer and 1 in January; all of which must be better than you have already. Also a replaced player should be kept until following window to ensure the new one is better. For instance when Garcia arrived DeJong should have been kept until this January. If we had have done this we could have resold Garcia and re-signed DeJong! Sinclair and Johnson likewise.

As for Maicon, Rodwell and Wright, well I just shake my head!

the same Mancini who won us 2 trophies in his first 2 full seasons in charge, our first trophies for decades, I for one will cut him a lot of slack for a fair while yet. In no way did I make any excuse about anything, I just posed the question as to where we might be.

Most of the know alls in this forum were big time against the manager going for his top target, van persie and were happy when the scum got him - scum's league results this season 17 wins 1 draw 3 defeats; take out van persie goals and assists and it goes to 5 wins, 10 draws and 6 defeats - thats a difference of 27 points if my maths is right - I accept that someone else playing in his place would have made up some of those points - but twenty fucking seven!

My point, and I will restate it, is that Bobby is a winner, he knows what he is doing, and should be allowed to do it. I think it is a valid point

It's over we missed out on Hazard and Rvp but the problem was he didn't get a decent winger he trusts to play week in week out and Javi Garcia is not playing to well and Rodwell has been out all season so it's safe to say that transfer window was not the best for us

I still feel we should have done better with the team we have but the season is long and hard so we will see at the end of the season but we need players like Garcia, Rodwell and Mario if he stays to chip in and offer something to the team

if we had signed them targets we would be top of the league maybe but we have spent enough imo and we have a team that can win many things if we stick together

He isn't,and doesn't,in Europe.

And more than a couple of his purchases have been very poor, especially given the fees involved.

Yeah but Tony Pulis could also be a winner if he signed Messi and Ronaldo. The point is I just don't buy into the fact that we need to buy more players to win.

Also I didn't and still don't want RVP, some people will disagree but we have a better striker in Aguero. If Sergio would have took half of his chances this season then he would have at least 20 goals so far. And the minute he hits top form the name RVP won't even be mentioned on this forum. I honestly believe that Sergio is only a good run of form away from being a 50 goal a season player. RVP will probably win United the league this season and if he does fair play to them but buying whatever player is flavour of the month is not going to help us long term.

Also by all accounts the players Mancini wanted was RVP, Hazard, De Rossi and Thiago Silva. We was never in a million years going to sign all of them and perhaps if Bobby had more obtainable or more realistic players on his shortlist we would have been in a better position.

I just think that while RVP is carry United we are also giving them a helping hand by not playing to our full potential and if we was there would not be a 7 point gap.

There was no need to sign more obvious, superstar signings.

Very good players, who would certainly have improved us,were transferred in the summer and it seems we weren't in for any of them.
We spent 50m and have some how stood still at best,i personally think we have gone backwards when team moral is factored.

It's cost us European experience and probably the defence of the league,Mancini has to be held accountable for the shambles.

You are not going to win a trophy every year simple as.

This year could be that year.

Injuries have been the killer for us along with RVP scoring important goals for Manure.

More so than transfers and the player himself we should be looking at how to limit / eliminate soft tissue injuries.

If we have our best team on the park we are more than a match for any team in the premiership.

As for Europe , it was disappointing but the side have had two years to learn what is required to advance now and I would expect a much better result next time.

So fucking what? tell me one manager who has not made bad choices in the transfer market. ok so his second of maybe even third choice of signings didnt turn out to be as good as the his first choice ones. WOW and now you somehow blame Mancini for this?

How many trophies? have you celebrated in your life time?

We are second in the league!! You think we deserve to win every game, if not its mancini faults, because hes the one who plays do the mistake on the pitch and manage the team oh yeah he scouts, signs and execute the orders around the club.

-- Wed Jan 09, 2013 11:26 am --

This forum kills me, so many stupid comments in here. im losing hope for humanity.

Funny you didn't mention Europe which we underperformed yet again for the 3rd year running. Also out of the league cup against an awful Villa side and our performances in the league haven't been great (yes we're 2nd in the league but that isn't an achievement with squad we have).

I agree. Mancini has been hopeless in Europe wherever he's been - despite having every advantage. I believe we've won stuff so far inspite of his baffling decision making. Last summer's transfers were a joke - and i cant be bothered to suggest what we could have had instead of the rubbish we got....................and, again, cant get rid of.
