Two good wins and you go and completely change the team and the formation. Why?

Why not stick with Garrido who had a good game at Fulham? Why bring Richards back who had a poor game?

Why start with only Tevez upfront, when Cruz has linked up well with him over the last two games?

Why play Tevez and Ireland(in a a strange roll) against Distin and Jagielka? A complete mismatch.

Please stop changing the formation and stick with a winning team!

he would have got r*ped tonight !!! hes cack

Don't start with the mancini bollocks jrb, whatever team went out tonight would of got beat, Everton i hate to admit it are a better "team" we may have better individuals but thats it imo.

6 points they took off us this season and we've looked shite both times, if Everton had, had a fully fit squad from the start they would of sewn the top 4 slot imo. They are very underated.

Don't talk rubbish. A unchanged team with RSC upfront from the start would have caused Everton more problems and we would have probably won tonight. What's the point in pumping the ball up to Tevez and Ireland who are both 5 foot nothing against those two tall centre halfs? Richards had a poor game as well. Garrido played well on Sunday and shouldn't have been dropped.

The buck stops with the manager. He decided to change a winning team and it backfired. It had nothing to do with Moyes. End of.

The reason we changed a winning side should have been obvious after ireland got injured. They outnumbered us ind midfield.

You can play as many wide men and forwards as you want but if your midfielders can't keep and retain the ball you can't get them in the game

everton has 5 sometimes 6 in midfield. And Fixer is right, they are one of the hardest working and best organised teams in the country so the 1st goal was crucial

They were rocking when we scored but their goal changed the game.

We are just a little short in midfield with Johnson and Ireland missing

At least Villa blew an "easy" game at home. i had them down to win, and us to draw tonight so Villa are as big losers tonight. Spurs are in pole position but there will be a lot of twists and turns yet

Bollocks Rocky santa wank, don't make me laugh he's fcuking dire, Everton have our number end of imo, Bobby knew they would murder us in midfield thats why Tevez was up front on his own.

Well said Marvin, Mancini had reasons for the changes he made, hindsight is not clever!
We win on Monday all is back on track.
They are THE form team in the Prem and our bogey team, even more so than Spurs are IMO

Rubbish, Santa Cruz would have contributed next to nothing in that time.

The point being.

We had no height upfront. The ball kept on coming back to Evertons midfield. Cruz would have held the ball up from the start and denied Everton that outlet. As soon as Cruz came on the game changed in our favour.

4-4-2(Cruz/tevez upfront) should have been the team from the start. What role was Ireland playing just behind Tevez and infront of our midfield? He looked totally lost.

Don't forget, we were the home team, Yet Mancini completely changes a winning team and formation to combat Everton. Why not let Everton worry about our winning 4-4-2 team/formation that had a great second half at Sunderland, were we should have won and a great 80 minutes at Fulham, were we did win. Sometimes there's no need to tinker and mess with the team.

I'm not having a go at Mancini, I just don't understand why he changed the team. Let other managers and teams worry about our settled winning team.

-- Thu Mar 25, 2010 12:27 am --

Put it another way.

Was Ireland any better than Cruz tonight while he was playing? No he wasn't. Did he contribute more than Cruz while he was playing? No he didn't. Didn't Cruz change the course of the game at Sunderland and didn't he score and have a decent game at Fulham? Yes he did. Logic would state that you stick with Santa Cruz to start with, not only becuase of the above, but because of this height and ability to win the ball against two tall centre halfs that had Tevez and Ireland in their pockets for most of the game.(being honest tevez had a great period in the first half were he game them both a tough game)
