Mancini write-up by Didsbury Dave

DD has peddled this shit, constantly for the last 3 and a half years & now is crowing that he was right all along.

Even a broken watch is right twice a day.

Was just thinking of that expression. Bearing in mind that the average life span of a manager is less than 3 years it was inevitable that in the end DD would be right. And to claim that Mansour came round to his way of thinking is stretching it a bit.

Funny i've been thinking about that expression since it first began being bandied about in relation to Dave and few others (think it was after our CL exit back in autumn). What has happened in the last few days isn't some isolated incident which has no relation to criticism from last season or the season before about Mancini's handling of his players, his capacity to motivate and get the best out of them, and his willingness to work with the other people at the club. In fact it's the culmination of all of those things which has led to Mancini's position becoming untenable, as Khaldoun set out in his statement and as City are now privately briefing the press.

Therefore the broken watch analogy is, to paraphrase blusterin' bob (kowalski), shit. And condescending. But mostly just shit.

This is a brilliant read for me. I was never a fan of Mancini's and never made that a secret on here. I always questioned his man management skills (or lack of them) and his body language. I was slated for saying he never smiles. It was plain to me that he was an absolute shocking motivator. It was obvious to me, but I didn't know the ins and outs of it. Now I do.
Never slagged the man, but am so glad he's gone. This is why I repeatedly say, (with a huge smile) "the future is lookin brill".

Cheers for this. Absolute quality.

Mancini never smiles? he was laughing his head off during the 6-1.
i bet you were too.
bet you enjoyed the recent 2-1 win at the swamp?
and the even more recent semi-final win-bet you were smiling your head off after that match.not a bad result for "an absolute shocking motivator"

And I say yet again.....

The future is lookin brill :)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

do you still say mancini never smiles tho?

Did you show so much reverence for Khaldoon's word's when he was backing Mancini and giving him a five year contract

I've no doubt he does smile, but very rarely at work. Of course the derby wins at their place were fantastic. We're talkin about derbies though mate. Players shouldn't need much motivation in a derby. You could put my boss in that technical area. I'm not saying he's my choice, I only ever had one and that's Jupp Heynckes; however, I urge you to watch Jürgen Klopp at work.

The fact that 38 page thread can be created on talking about a particular poster or 2- not so much the article written- but the individual who wrote it, is unbelievable.

He's being knocked for being obsessed with Mancini (his faults)- yet most on here seem obsessed with him.

He's a person who writes on a forum. I wouldn't be surprised if the words 'dismal dave' were mentioned on here more than most of our players names, barring Dzeko, and Balotelli before he left.

If someone writes a bad book it's usually the author that gets slated. Besides that people have commented on the content - and apart from about 6 posters the rest of haven't found it to be a masterpiece of critical evaluation.

It isn't exactly a masterpiece: it contains quite a few cliches and the turd analogy at the beginning is a bit strong but the article highlights what was wrong with Mancini's management style. Autocracy only works whilst you are successful and if you 're seen to be achieving less than you should then the manager's position is immediately challenged. Individual events like public criticism of players and dragging Boateng to Ukraine to when we had enough defensive cover alienates individuals and only lowers team morale.

There is also a widely held belief that "outers" were always calling for Mancini's head from the day he was appointed however that is not true; I was firmly behind Mancini up until the CL debacle this season. I tried to remain positive and upbeat but I think it was after the Ajax away game, I realised Mancini was n't up to scratch and there was no positive to take and there was nothing but false hope left.

I also suggested Rafa as an alternative prior to his appointment at Chelsea and was ridiculed for doing so; he now has an improved European record whilst Mancini has an appalling record even against the poorer teams in the Europa league.

Whilst I have broadly agreed with Dave's sentiments over the last couple of months on the Mancini thread, I was never quite so adamant about sacking him (I think I put myself at about 65:35 in terms of showing the manager the door). With regards the oft trumpeted "inners" notion that only about half a dozen posters agree with Dave though, the recent BM poll on sacking Mancini closed at 66:34 against (646 votes to 330). So out to the tune of 324 then I'm afraid.......

Shit maybe, but entirely accurate.

Do people think the club are making things up? As I've already said, you won't hear any more from the club than they feel they need to repair any PR damage, despite there being a lot more to say.

But to go back to DD's article, it's a typical scenario on Bluemoon. Someone comes out with a well-written piece or post and rather than reply in the same vein, as intelligent adults, the nay-sayers belittle and insult the OP in a stream of uncritical, negative drivel.

Can I make a suggestion? If you don't agree with what Dave has written (which he'll have no problem with I can assure you) then feel free to produce your own well-written and carefully argued piece on why you think it was the wrong decision. LT is always looking for good and even thought-provoking or even plain provocative articles to publish and would be grateful for your input.

I highlighted that for you PB..as you seem to have a real problem..

Im sorry but just because a piece is well written doesnt make it any good, every blog ever written only states the obvious.... Im sure Mein Kampf was well written..

Its the subject matter that pisses folks off..all the prancing around wont change the fact that Dave wanted Bob out..

He could have said.."bob was shit good riddance"....but that doesnt have the effect Dave was looking for..

Why have a soap when you can have epic drama..

met with sneering condescension, name calling, and nasty barbs.

You have the copyright on that BS.

Here's the reason why you suffered abuse: because any thread that had anything remotely connected to the manager was turned into a Mancini-out thread by you and your mates.

And it wasn't just the past six months. It's been like that since Mancini was appointed.

No irony. I don't like you because you've been consistently a **** to me for a very long time now. As I said previously, when I get treated like a ****, I'll react in kind. If you find that ironic then you're dimmer than i previously thought.

Bleating Shears: "met with sneering condescension, name calling, and nasty barbs."

Hey buddy, I don't believe in turn the other cheek. You want a stationary target which doesn't swing back, you're in the wrong place.

So you taking a 3 week sabatical cos you couldnt handle what posters might say to you was bullshit then ??

DD's own words..not mine..
