Gary "Mani" Mounfield RIP

Fucking hell. Remember coming home for a week's leave from Germany. Went to the in laws in Burnage for a Sunday dinner and seen some bloke sat on the settee just watching the telly with a drink and a joint. Thought I recognised him and was told it was Mani. Just sat with his mates having a joint - this was at their height.

Lovely genuine bloke.

Shame.

I go to a lot of pubs, always interested in the soundtrack, and heard "Made of Stone" and "I am the resurrection" in last week alone. Mani was part of one of the great periods in music history.

such sad news.
met hime once in the early 90s was stood waiting for a taxi at failsworth pole. Bloke and his mate in front of us said they were heading to town if we wanted to share. realised it was him, me and my mate were dumb struck and didn't say a word for the whole journey while him and his mate chatted. We were so star stuck as it was only a few years previous that I played a cassette that was being passed around school from this band that we were going to change the world. He and his band did that and he also paid for the taxi.
