There is no reason for us to try and make a couple more million on these players. As domalino said, if we sell them cheap then we can buy them back cheaper. I imagine we have a buyback no greater than 20m, which if we use, it would be because he turned out to be worth atleast 50m.

Has a contract til 2020 and will be on a free next year.
We would try to sell with a buyback or give him a new contract and loan him
if we would see a future with him at City.

Another loan would be disappointing but it would be a message as well.

Loans at Gijon and Toulouse are telling enough about market demand.
I think we need to have a more realistic view.

A loan at 2nd tier Spanish side seems a bit disappointing.

I wonder if there's a personal reason he's moving back home? He seemed to be getting good reviews at Toulouse, I thought he'd be moving up the ladder not dropping down to a second division club.

Could be a handy player to keep around given a potential transfer ban, so good news that he has signed an extension, but I do agree that a second division loan is odd.

The club do put a lot of thought into making sure the loan clubs our lads go to are the right type of environment, so I'm sure there is method to our madness here.

Agreed. Should have been sold to a mid table team in La Liga for cheap with a buyback. It could be there are no clubs interested? Maybe the buyback option is not agreeing with some clubs.

Hugely, how the hell can we properly judge his future/quality while playing in a limited league? The Championship here would have been much more productive.

Is the loan just a pure worst case scenario cover your arse type of move if Fernandinho, Gundogan and Silva all leave with us getting a ban as well? That way we have him to play if we’re desperate next season. I highly doubt that will happen but at least it’s a contingency if everything conspires against us.

Off to Sporting Gijon on a permanent deal. Signed a five year contract. Good luck Manu
