We can’t react to every injury with buying a player.

That being said, defence needs a proper overhaul.

Ake and stones need to make way for a proper experienced player to directly challenge gvardiol and Dias. If the new player is any good he will take a start place and can rotate with the two above or gvardiol can go to LB on occasion.

The club bought Khus and Reis but none have made the impact needed and now we are right back to a defensive injury crises. Ait nowhere since he joined. Obviously he away now to play international

The elephant in the room is Ake and stones. Buy a proper world class defender to replace in the summer.

Bobb and sav must also go. Step by step we are getting a proper decent team again. Few issues still with us.

I think he will dictate where he wants to go.
Madrid on a free are current favourites and can approach him on this window re: an agreement similar to that which they did with Alexander Arnold.

I agree but the difference is I think our plans are to sign a centre back in the summer anyway as stones and ake can’t be relied on so to save the season we may need to bring these plans forward if gvardiol or Dias are injured long term.
 
He's a threat at set pieces didn't know that, most the highlights are him scoring or getting onto balls from corners.

He has his spot there at Palace, playing week in week out. He is pretty much guaranteed a seat on the plane to America if he stays, not to mention a huge signing on bonus waiting for him at whatever club he chooses.

Why would he leave now?

He would have a spot playing for us and gets to play Champions League and compete at the top end of the table. Since it became clear that Glasner is leaving palace they’re in free fall.
 
Realistically Dias and Josko will be getting properly evaluated today.

Can only see reinforcements coming in if Ake goes. If Stones is coming back and one of Ruben/Gvardiol isn’t to bad can just see Ake and Khusanov getting more minutes.

I hope I’m wrong. I hope we go after him now.

But I’d like to see more of Khusa. He played both sides yesterday. He looks comfortable.

Could also command a huge signing-on fee as a free agent in the summer. Can't see him moving in January.
