I agree with the cause,we just don't need the PR bullshit that goes with it.It's wrong and it's bloody insulting.

As noted,Rashford has been in the Rag academy since aged 7,so even if his mum didn't or couldn't,and i strongly believe otherwise......do they not feed or educate them there?

His first book at 17 and it was Ole's tactics the poor ****.

I've no real problem with Rashford, at least he's trying to make a difference for those less well off, I don't see many other footballers doing that.

That said, though, there has been a weird history of Red PR-driven awards at SPOTY where the odd lot are concerned. Remember when they completely made up a prize for the pisscan when he finally deigned to speak to them again after a journalistically valid investigation by Panorama? And another for Charlton?

No issues with him getting an award, as someone from a high poverty area I often wondered why the kids have to go all summer holidays without support.
At least he recognised and highlighted the fact kids still have to eat.
Never thought about this in a football sense, good for him and any other awards he gets from this cause, sure he don't give two fxxcks about an award but getting one raises the reason.

I’m in two minds about Rashford and his altruism.

Hand 1
He’s made a difference. Doesn’t matter how/who/what. Even if it’s been totally stage-managed then it’d a good thing that’s happened

It’s a perfect PR managed series of events and Gashy has had very little to actually do with it. I’d be comfortable in thinking the rag PR team are behind it.
How can he be starting a book club? Do me a favour. Next he’ll be getting his fucking knighthood.
