There's not much being said about City, but still interesting to read if you want to know more about him. Mostly about his playing career.

Didn't hear about this incident with Fabregas:
Were you tempted to give Cesc Fabregas a clip round the ear when he got lippy recently? Kids of today, eh?

At the time, yes, I did. I was waiting for my players to come off and he walked past so I stuck my hand out to shake his and he just said, 'Didn’t you used to play for Barcelona?' I could tell there was a bit of disdain in his voice, so I took exception and said 'Have you got a problem with that?' He said something about your team doesn’t play like Barcelona.

Obviously I haven’t got a £100m budget to get players who will play like Barcelona each week, so I tried to make that point. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt – I may as well do – I don’t think anyone told him to apologise, and I appreciated that. He could easily have made a token gesture and said, ìCan you tell Mark when he comes back from the press that I’m sorry?î but he wanted to tell me personally, so he waited around for 25 minutes. It was said with sincerity, so I accepted it.

Apparently that happened two years ago. I wonder why he said "I haven't got £100m budget", and not "I didn't have £100m budget", but anyway... it's a good read about our manager.

Because I don't work for FourFourTwo, and can't decide what they want to put up...?

that happened a couple of seasons ago when he managed blackburn....i think it was a cup game against arsenal and arsenal were really expected to win....i think hughes played a blinder with tactics and shut out arsenal, albeit with a cloggers and hobnailed boot type of team ethic

when fabregas was coming off at the end, obv. very frustrated, hughes went to shake his hand and fabregas made those comments about barcelona and beautiful football and hughesy not having blackburn play like he used to play his football

i think his comments on the recent interview can be taken with a pinch of salt though mate....either a misquote or a freudulent slip
