Mark Hughes sacked

There's talk of Allardyce getting the job. Southampton used to have a bit of imagination and ambition when it came to appointments, Pochettino, and Koeman were masterstrokes, but since Pellegrino, they seem to have lost their nerve, and now look at the proverbial "safe hands" merry go round managers, who, in the case of Hughes, are anything but safe. It's a shame for them, they've gone from being a club pushing for Europe, to one content just to survive, and have the PL money coming in, a bit like Newcastle.

I saw an interview with Hughes a few days ago where he said that the team was doing all the right things and that it would come good eventually. I knew then he didn't have long.

At the time the press went very negative on the sacking saying that he should have been given the next 3 games as they were eminently winnable, completely ignoring our current run of drawn games that we should have easily won.
