Mark Lillis - Tales of Blue

Great interview Mark, I had a few mutual friends with his sister many many years ago in my youth, so always knew Mark’s affinity and love for the club, when you hear the phrase ‘walk over broken glass to sign for a club’, that absolutely was Mark Lillis, he loved the club and that interview shows that love is still just as strong today, Blue through and through !

how on earth did Manchester city under Swales not go under ? when Mark said Swales had to sell him because of the wages and having no money, I always bring this up with Paul Lake, he would have been sold and rightly so with the talent he had, Lakey was far too good a player for playing for city with the shit Swales as chairman

His love for the club certainly shines through and was a pleasure to talk to.

Mark was a Kippax boo boy for a while but won us over by sheer hard work and effort in every game he played. You couldn’t help but like him.
Was he? Don't recall that?
I went to Germany for two weeks in late July / early August 86 and when I returned, my mates said we'd flogged Mark I thought they were just winding me up.
Even more so when they said they'd replaced him with Trevor fucking Christie!
