Marks & Spencer Christmas advert taken down

Could paper hats in traditional Christmas colours really be interpreted as a country’s flag?
Apparently so, by some.
I'm not going to get enraged or personally affronted either way.
The ads removed taking into account the atrocities taking place in Gaza and Israel. On balance the correct decision.
There are plenty of other Xmas ads to watch, and M+S are still open for business.

If the flag is those colours, then presumably yes.

M&S fully acknowledge the coincidence, and the timing of the brutal conflict, which is what makes in any way potentially sensitive and without which it wouldn't even get a mention.

The advert has not been pulled, just for clarity. The social media post that promotes the advert has.

Is everything a conspiracy theory?
Maybe it was an ad produced in good faith a few months ago, but has since been overtaken by recent events.

That's not a conspiracy theory ffs. It might be over the top cynicism, might be idle nonsense, but it is hardly fucking q-anon is it.

I'd say taking a handful of complaints off twitter and then making a big deal about not trying to cause offence is just opportunist pr. They know full well the vast majority don't give a fuck but it has got us all talking. Job done.

If the M&S TV advertisement where they flog pigs in blankets and cardigans isn't sacred then what is? Christmas is ruined for me.
