Lol! When I read that response I thought "hmm! Jjeangi should be in here soon to set this straight," :) and in 2 seconds I refresh and you have it done already.jjeangi said:No fucking way what?alera said:NO FUCKING WAY

Dax777 said:Pastore is not solid defensively, nor is he good in ariel battle, Felliani is. He is a fantastic box to box midfielder, hard to beat in the air, and hard to defend on set pieces. A fantastic tackler, fantastic in the air, fantastic at holding possession and breaking up plays. He is the epitome of a box to box Midfielder.Bunk said:The way I look at it is as follows, we should only be targeting the best players in the world now (even when looking at cover positions and squad strengthening). Fellaini isn't in that bracket. I'd rather go without than getting bent over a barrel (again) by Everton for a really average player. He’s dirty, uncoordinated and needs a fucking hair cut. I've no idea where this "he's a great passer" comes from. If we’re gonna pillage Everton again I'd rather have Arteta.
Personally if he was not injury prone, I'd take him over any of our Center Mids.
Actually we are not ideologically different in that sense. i don't favor airballs either, but notice my wording above "he is hard to beat in the air, and hard to defend on set pieces" I.e. I am stating his situational advantages to you. On freekicks and Cornerkicks, we have no choice but to kick the ball in the air sometimes, even as just a variety strategy. Second, while you or I might be anti kicking the ball in the air, the opposition (especially in the premiership) isn't. Ao it is not a matter of whether I like it philosophically, but rather whether we are required to defend it. Which unfortunately we are. For their heights, Barry and De Jong are some of the best defensive headers out their, but frankly there is only so much yo can do at that height. Felliani isnot only tall, he is actually excellent at it.Bunk said:Dax777 said:Pastore is not solid defensively, nor is he good in ariel battle, Felliani is. Well this is where we’re at an ideological standoff, because I couldn’t care less whether a player can head the ball particularly well or not, I believe in playing the ball on the ground using your feet. So that’s another reason why Fellaini holds no appeal to me at all.
And we already have a good box-to-box midfielder in Milner who always plays very well when he’s played in the middle rather than on the flank.
So your opposition to our purchase of him is injury related right? Or as I suspect, is this just a pretext.alera said:Didnt he pick up another serious injury towards the end of last season ? That must have added another 10 million on his value.
Its not like he has spent half of his Everton career on the Physio table is it ?

Not that Fellaini would be adequate cover for either. If you're after an attacking midfielder who plays through the middle then Pastore’s your man, you're probably right about Mata and Hazard playing off the wing, but Pastore plays through the middle, he’s also 6ft 2, is that tall enough for you??
