Marouane Fellaini

Wouldn't be surprised to see the rags in for Fellaini to be honest, their midfield is quite poor when it is up against a tough challenge and it needs improvements on several fronts - if they added Modric and Fellaini for example in place of the outgoing Scholes and the overrated Carrick, it would suddenly become much more difficult to try and topple them.

Wants to leave the blue bin dippers maybe .. would he fit into our system anywhere ..

Marouane Fellaini has raised doubts about his Everton future by revealing he wants to play in the UEFA Champions League.

The Toffees are keen to tie down the Belgium international to a new contract, but as yet no new deal has been agreed.

Fellaini, who has two years left on his current terms, has cast doubt on his Goodison Park stay by claiming he wants to be playing at the highest level.

"One thing is certain, I want to play in a team that wins trophies and plays in the Champions League," Fellaini is quoted as saying in the News of the World.

"But Everton is a team below the top level."

no thanks.

OOOOHHH Yes he is! He's an absolute Grade-A donkey! Tony Adams with an afro. I watched plenty of him these last few seasons, he typifies the kind of industrial football they choose to play at Everton. He just puts himself about and scores a few scrappy headers here and there. He's not worthy of deputizing for Yaya, they’re both tall, the similarities ends there.

We need a creative ball-playing midfielder, Pastore, Modric, Pjanic, Mata, Hazard, Hamsik, there’s just a few off the top of my head.

Show some ambition!

No, I still disagree - his passing and retention is way above 'industrial', and this is despite being stymied by the overall Everton approach.

Modric would be great, but I reckon that that ship's sailed. And I honestly don't believe that Hamsik is as good as Fellaini. The others that you mention would never go into our midfield three, no matter how much some might want them to - Mancini has shown that he wants steel in there, and Pjanic, Pastore, Mata and Hazard would all be played off the wing (like Silva).

Mate de Jong's got more steel than Sheffield! We don't need to add in that department. If you want an attacking midfielder those are the names we will be looking at. I will be vindicated as one of those names will be with us before the season starts, Fellaini won't.

Dont rate him at all, he's no better than what we've already got. And if my memory serves me right I remember a few blues having a argument with a few everton fans on here about de Jong being better than fellaini.

good player, gets stuck in, Prem experience, versatile option in CM. I'd say yes. Would have to get a haircut first, though.

He has no height though and can't pass the ball forward.

Fellaini has height and is a much better passer than De Jong.

I dont think you have watched many games then...

De Jong has made some excellent long balls to Tevez several times last season. Which has ended up in goals.

De Jong was a creative midfielder when he played for Ajax.

Sabster's anti-De Jong bias is infamous, not worth it mate.

One concern with Fellaini I'd have is he managed only 20 appearances last season in the league and 23 the season before. Seriously injury prone.
