Martín Zubimendi

Are there actually any sources linking us to Reijnders?
Unfortunately, no—and that’s deeply alarming, considering he’s precisely the profile we need to turn our season around. Zubimendi and Ederson are a slightly lower compared to Reijnders, good players, but not as good as Reijnders.

Comparing Wirtz to Reijnders is utterly nonsensical. Wirtz is a winger and an attacking midfielder aka a (10), not a number 8. Let’s keep him out of this discussion—he’s the ideal replacement for KdB and should be a target regardless of whether we secure Reijnders or not.

Reijnders, on the other hand, is a proper box-to-box midfielder, a complete number 8 with a genuine goal threat. He can also operate as a defensive midfielder, making him the perfect fit to play alongside Rodri or even in Rodri’s absence.

Suggesting a pairing of Zubimendi and Ederson is not just suboptimal—it’s downright poor. The "ideal" scenario would be Reijnders paired with either Zubimendi or Ederson, providing the balance and dynamism we desperately need.I lean towards Ederson because Zubimendi's lack of mobility is painfully evident, but if we get Reijnders, along Zubimendi, Reijnder can help/negate Zubimendi's flaws.
Completely disagree calling him complete.

As I showed, he is WORSE defensively than Wirtz.

Where is this confidence that Reijnders is this defensive powerhouse?

He would be a 10 (hence the comparison to Wirtz).

Not really, some say we looked and he's also being offered a new contract. He said this just over a week ago.

Despite the interests, the Dutch midfielder only sees Milan, a club where he would like to grow old. "We are discussing the renewal right now but I can't say more. But I see myself in Milan until I'm in my thirties. It's one of the most beautiful clubs in the world and it's an honor to play there. Wearing Cruijff's number 14 shirt is very special and I'm happy in Milan."

No he is not, Milan choose to play him more forward than a 6, because he is also very good going forward for a number 8 that can play defensive 6. Have you ever watched much of Reijnders WallyA?

Also, I never claimed he was a "defensive powerhouse." He’s an 8 who can operate as a 6 but also has the ability to push forward like a 10.

That’s why I said pairing him with Ederson or Zubimendi would be ideal.

Pointed out in another thread that he and his partner had a child in February, so it’s generally not the time for upheaval and more likely the time to sign an extensions. Rather similar to Bernardo here.

He’s not slow, he’s just not the quickest. Like Rodri.
Zubimendi is technically sound and composed, no doubt about that. But watching him run, it’s as if he’s wading through a pool. Clearly, it must be my eyes failing to spot the mobility.

Good job you weren’t scouting Rodri and Busquets with the latter not being that quick at all but regarded as arguably the best DM of all time by some. Modric isn’t quick either and at times played a holding role for Madrid.

All of these players are/were world class.
