What's been happening is that teams rotate the players that kick our players within a match. Both Kane and Ali should have been sent of in last year's game. Both perform such tackles each week and both are overated "English " players. Both were average at the world cup, because their default playing style went it's not going their way is to actually try and cripple opponents.
Let's not forget the arsenal cup semi final where Silva was butchered. ..targeted by arsenal players in turn...other posters on here iirc actually know of a dossier prepared ..advocating such classy tactics as the way forward for north London finest.
And when u talk of teams rotating players to kick our dangermen-look no further than KDB at palace last new year.still angry about that now.a disgrace.
The two palace players who shamelessly carried out their ultimately unsuccessful attacks on Kev should be ashamed of themselves as professionals. And Scott Dan ,in particular. ..seeing as it was he who butchered sergio at Palace a few years back....incidentally leading to the substitution and fantastic debut of our Kev ...every cloud...

The worst, of course, was the treatment of SWP in a derby match when 5 or 6 rag players were booked for systematically fouling him.

if memory serves they weren't booked and that is what was so clever/disgusting about the Govan Piss Cans tactics, each player was instructed to foul him once and then each turned to the ref, said sorry and that it was their first foul, most if not all were not punished. The result as we all know is that our one player who could win the match limped off injured.

Stay classy yah rag bastards.

They did the same thing against arsenal at old Trafford a few years back..the neville brothers in partc kicking lumps out of reyes I think it was.and the ref AND biased Martin Tyler acted as tho it was nothing. Classy utd .

Ah, the famous Mike Riley Show!
And guess who is in charge of the 'elite' band of premiership refs this season....
Stand up Mr Riley.
Wonder how many utd games alty fan Taylor will get this season?
Beggars belief...and not a word in mainstream press.

only saw the motd highlights but city hit the woodwork/keeper several times and concede a goal that the clowns decide would be disallowed on VAR-must be watching a different game to lineker and shearer

What I picked up was tubhead Shearer did not think it was a penalty for the tug on Aguero. However, during the Everton game he thought it was harsh to send Smith off for the tug on Walcott but that it was a yellow card offence. The only real difference, in my opinion, was one was in the box & one wasn't.

A few years ago a friend of mine was assistant ref on one of our games & I asked him why Phil Dowd did not give a pen for a shirt pull on Sergio. He said that Dowd had said it was not enough of a pull to award a pen. The suggestion being that if it had been outside he would have given it. Not sure why premier refs feel the laws are different inside the box.

Have to agree on that. How many times has it been said it would be a foul anywhere else on the pitch, but not in the box.
Saying that, does it mean refs are giving too many outside of the penalty area, that are not really fouls.

Possibly, but the reality I believe is the flip.

That is, the fact that conceding a foul anywhere inside a box near the goal is worthy of a free shot at goal for the other team, 12 yards out with only a keeper forced to stay on his line to block it.

Either referees need to be stricter enforcing the rules, or there needs to be something other than a penalty given for some fouls in the area.

Like a short corner perhaps

I recall that rag players took turns in clattering SWP until one was booked and another took over. A few were booked including Ronaldo who, iirc, was given a second yellow for handball later in the game which was at least a bit of Karma.
