Phillips really is the elephant in the room at this point.

Personally think Pep and the club would sell him tomorrow if he was willing to leave.

Frustrating, as I think West Ham would have him in a heart beat and that would be a much better move for him at this stage of his career, rather than getting token minutes at City when it's pretty clear as day it's unlikely to work for him here.

Fully expect Rodri, Rico, Kovacic, Stones - maybe even Perrone as the season progresses - to get a look in ahead of him and it's just a waste for all involved.

There was a guy used to stand near us in the Kippax who would leave 5 minutes early (even in those days, I know) would hope for a 'car park goal' when he was walking back to the St Edwards School car park.

Kovacic impressive defensively, I can see it for sure. As for Phillips, I just don't see where he fits in...

Just isn’t good enough to do what pep wants on the ball- too may loose touches and misplaced passes. Some like Rico just have the football mind for it and some don’t.
