Strange half that. Thought we were poor for the most part.

Burnley created next-to-nothing but the openings they did have must have all come from our pissing around at the back. We play it around at the back, nothing new there but there has to be some purpose to it. We are spending far too long in and around our own box with seemingly no intention of at some point moving through the gears and pushing forwards.

Haaland being Haaland has gotten us through a sticky half there.
Yes. Exactly why he got him. World class finisher makes the difference when youre not quite firing.

We spend time in our box to bait the press.

Problem is Kompany is smart.

Basically instructed Burnley to not press Ederson but the ball receivers, forcing Ederson to play long. When we pass short Burnley are jumping on the ball receivers.

There's little In enjoy more than the flickering embers of 'stop pissing around with it at the back'.

I think Haaland wants the midfield to play the ball over the top for him to run on, he probably knows he’s got the beating of the Burnley CB in a race
We should be and tbh I don’t like seeing him getting bollocked by Pep for suggesting it. We’re playing an open team with loads of space in behind them, surely to god we don’t have to be so risk averse that we ignore it? I’m Team Haaland on this one.

I want to see Kovacic in our starting 11 every week. He makes it click, what a player.
