Cant believe some people on here lol

Sitting on the sofa couldnt give a flying fuck about this game. We arent match but liverpool were good for the first 20 minutes. Then we bossed it.

The league isnt won in August

Let the dippers and the press/media get giddy I real arent bothered about this

Main disappointment for me is grealish looks to be the same as last season, was hoping he would continue his fine pre season form but he just looks slow and lazy.

anyone thinking haaland would score every chance he gets is in For a shock it’s just not possible. We look miles off it tbh.

Just need to ride the first 20 in the next half as they stop their gung ho plays after.

Really wish Mahrez would release his passes more quickly. First Haaland chance with the defender was good. Second opportunity, should’ve done better.

No surprise they look better. They’ve had more time to prepare. Nonetheless, as I said earlier, it’s a long season.

Lots of talk about what Haaland will bring to this team but today we are also getting a bit of a glimpse what we will lose as a team. We just need to adapt, also not expect we can outcontrol top teams like before anymore.

The forward press is pretty disappointing, compared to league games last season Liverpool are finding it much easier to play through us.
The midfield doesn't have the same control either. With De Bruyne de facto 2nd striker we got Rodri and Bernardo only there, last year we usually had another player drop in there often.

I would really like to see Alvarez have a 45 min as a striker but doubt it will happen, just to see what the team will look like with a natural presser when compared to first 45.

We don’t look fit and that’s the biggest problem out there today. We know this is the kind of preseason Pep goes for. Given the length of the season and how we have performed under him we just have to accept it.

That being said there are a few things that still standout:

1. The Grealish/Mahrez wide pairing is fucking woeful. Neither of them can attack the byline and are so predictable. Where Mahrez is concerned, I look at us and think, last season we had 3 players battling for the wide right spot. We have kept the worst of the 3.

2. When Chelsea came calling for Ake, we should have snapped their fucking hands off. The euphoria on here when it was announced he was staying was absolutely baffling. He is nowhere near our level.

3. KDB was looking great in the previous games but all of a sudden looks rusty as fuck.

Mahrez is going to have to be sat down and it explained to him, that we have a striker now and cutting inside all the time robs said striker of space and options , get the ball across the box that's what Haaland wants and needs .
Trouble is he's the most one footed player ever. Cutting inside is his only play.

Hard to do when he's one footed. This is why we need a right foot on the right

Mahrez being Mahrez...frsutrating as per normal

grealish being Grealish - his pressing and defensive work wasnt there last season and again today......not doing enough today at the moment to create much either

Rodri being very unlike Rodri

Bernardo Silva - working well deep bu nothing more after that...very unlike him as well

Cancello didnt start for the first 20 mins

Haaland - will need to be a lot more physical in the prem league than he is use to......not held the ball up a few times when he should have and a poor first touch on a number of occasions.
