"only", dominating for 2 years is eternity in football. Unless you get loads of players from the academy any domination will tail off eventually. Barca have dominated for so long cos of La Masia for the most part and even they are now starting to tail off due to lack of homegrown players.

You don't dominate if you sit with your thumb up your arse and not keep improving the squad.
