Totally controlled that 1st half

VAR is still fishy, laporte on screen was onside at one point, the line moved and then deemed offside.....but at no point do we ever see the exact point of when the ball leaves the contact - in this case bernardo's head !!! The frame remains totally still !

Are they really that thick, or do they take us the fans as the thick ones

Do a quick scan, no lines, anything obvious then call it anything that's 50/50 then attacking team. It seems so simple.

Even simpler, did the player benefit from his left testicle being 1mm off side? No, then it’s a goal, yes then it’s called off

Laporte had no benefit from his shoulder being 1mm offside when he scores it with his left foot which is a yard onside

If Laporte puts The ball in with his left shoulder, then it should be ruled off

That’s exactly as I saw it. Moved it until it was off.
And apparently the vertical line they used the been shown to be slanted! I’m not even saying they’re bias. Just shit technology being used by shit officials!

This ain’t offside!

The ball looks to have already left Silvas head in that image too, in such a fine call why is that not examined?

Can anyone explain to me why the lines are so thick? They're trying to decide millimetres, yet they insist on using a line that's half the width of the white lines on the pitch.

fucking bullshit, if it deflected in off that part of his arm where they drew the line they'd disallow it for handball. Fucking joke.

I agree but that kind of decision isn’t exclusive to us.. most teams have had these go against them. VAR is incredibly consistent (not correct) with those bulshit offside by armpit hair decisions. They always seem to side with the defender.

It is ridiculous as it is impossible to measure that kind of minuscule margin on film as frames per second can’t determine a correct answer.. the pace of the ball and player running speed mean one frame to the next will show a totally different outcome. Just depends which frame they show.

Basically it appears to be being used purely to show “look what VAR can do.. it can bring you to the correct decision no matter how tight the margins” when in fact it’s creating more ambiguity.
