It’s miles more pleasing on the eye, the passing and movement is better, the pressing is better. Having that mobility high up the pitch is what allows us to defend high and keep the pressure on. Only negative is we still aren’t creating anything. Our best chances/moments were from Marseille errors.

First twenty minutes was more the football we are used to seeing, some actual tempo and purpose to our play then as soon as we got the ball we reverted to what is becoming very familiar and decide to drop down a few gears and just keep the ball for the sake of it.

it’s an incredibly dangerous tactic, we need to be ramming home our advantage, it used to be as soon as we got the first goal you’d see us go and push for the 2nd and 3rd straight away and we would often score with a very short period of time between them but now we just play keep ball.

Much better than of late but if we don’t come out with the same energy as the first half it could cost us, this should be over by now.

As for them, they’ve clearly watched our recent struggles against a back 5 set up that way but have decided against actually playing the way that has seen us struggle, very odd.

Playing better but like we’re in 3rd gear. Need to be more direct. 30 seconds left and we went from 30 yards out to the halfway line as usual

Does anyone know why Marseille made a point of not taking the Knee ?.

Dose not reflect well on the Club.

Zinchenko adds about 10% possession to our game.

He just mops up any balls out to that left hand side and takes up the positions Silva used to in order to help out recirculating the attacks.

Obviously he's never going to be a top tier defender but he's our best LB in these kind of games.

In a nutshell he`s shite.

This is little more than a training session for us at the moment.

I wish we would look for the forward pass a bit more often rather than bring content to play backwards or sideways. It’s not just Gundo, Zinchenko has missed a couple of opportunities to put through a killer ball in favour of a short backpass. It’s so frustrating to watch.
