I like the balance with Phil and Jack as wide players - very impressed with how Jack is running at them and looking for those forward passes. Akanji looks very accomplished. Kev and Haaland - the radar is aligning, which is frightening for other teams. Julian should get some minutes second half especially if we can get a second goal.

Good 1st half performance at a tricky ground, new guy at the back looks composed and passes the ball well.
Good to see Jack running at them.
Only a goal up though, need to be careful 2nd half and not let them back into it...like Villa on Saturday.
Gomes getting beat a few times though is a bit worrying, their limited threat so far is coming down his side
Get a 2nd should be home and dry for a great start

Obviously total domination but we haven't really created much. Would like to see us be a bit more positive in possession sometimes.

Grealish has done well and looked lively going forward. Gomez and Akanji have been fine (without having much to do defensively).

Still not totally sold on the inverted FBs though. I think we'd create more with a more traditional 4-3-3 with the FBs overlapping.

A bit more adventurous with our passing and we should win this comfortably.

Complete control but not created enough for the level of dominance. Game should be finished, needs to be moved quicker in the final third. Akanji had very little to do but looks at home. Couple of early goals second half and ring the changes with spurs in mind.
