Matthijs de Ligt

How the hell do agents like Mino persuade kids of this age that their "services" are worth tens of millions of pounds?

What exactly do they offer that is worth such ludicrous recompense?
Mino Raiola has his track record speaking for himself.

He is hated. Everyone is saying he is a greedy bastard. But one thing is for sure, he is getting his players big deals and contracts. Look at Donnaruma at Milan AC. Paul Pogba at Man United.
He is so good that his clients have complete faith in him and clubs are forced to give him those fat checks if they want those players. He even manages to place some random guys in "ghost transfers" in big clubs so that they are able to get the lead for his star clients.

He is maybe despicable for everyone in the football, be it the clubs, the UEFA, the FIFA, but he is truly well loved by his players. And if de Ligt, specifically, went to him, it shows everything about what that player hopes to get.

Koulibaly is so under rated by everyone except Napoli. He’s one of the best defenders in the world and is great on the ball. Only problem is he would cost £100m+.

Agree he’s a fantastic player but Napoli and that arse of an owner make it impossible. He’d want an oil field let alone 100m.

Preparing myself for this guy and his agent to be shown to have used us to drive up his wage offer from Barca. It's a tale as old as time.

It's the hope that kills you!

We wont get De Ligt...sadly

Maguire is better than most on here are hinting

Remember everyone thought the Dippers overpaid for VVD because he only played for Saints (although I'm not gonna suggest Maguire will be as good a VVD)

Think Maguire would do well for us, even if it's a tad underwhelming

I'm not sure many thought this.

City certainly seemed to think so judging by the clips on the documentary. He was seriously pricey though he's obviously been worth it for Liverpool.

Interesting though in the documentary that khaldoon also said that if we have to then we have to? I really would put an £80m bid if for De Ligt ASAP! Even if we just signed De Ligt and rhodri this summer we are stronger?

I don't remember him saying that but you may be right. I think exceptional players do sometimes require exceptional fees , I would love to sign De Ligt but suspect he's Barca bound.

Wages are going to be the stumbling block for us. Pep said we couldn't afford griezman. I think what he meant was his salary would bust our structure to bits and cause more harm than good.
If a player wants to be part of a great squad, contribute to and receive honours as a reward and legacy, City is up there with the best of the best. If a player has money as his priority and wants his recognition to be defined by being the highest paid member of a squad, then perhaps they should look elsewhere. And I think Pep would like them to look elsewhere.

Not seen a Raiola player that wasn’t a cockend. De Ligt seems a decent enough bloke time will tell.

You must remember Dax is on a higher level that the board and Pep. He was able to remind everyone straight after the Spurs CL exit how he’d said “we can’t afford to lose the first game”, if only Pep and Txiki had access to such information prior to the game.

Lol

We need to be all out for this. He's a generational talent at a position we have a need for. If Maguire is worth 60m spend 100m on this guy.
Agreed. 6 years on maguire too and tbh I wasn’t impressed when we played them

I think he’s very ordinary for that fee

If he is with Raiola this could end up a none starter. I don't think Txiki, Feran or Pep have any time for Raiola at all; up to and including flat out not dealing with him no matter who the player is.

Has nothing to do with paying more, its all to do with how much he wants to join De Jong at barcelona. Sounds like that out weighs everything else.

How much are Barca going to spend in the summer, that’s the question isn’t it

86m for de jong
108m for griezmann

Are they gonna sell anyone ?

Matuidi is a Raiola client.
Areola is a Raiola client.
Maxwell was a Raiola client.
Verratti is a Raiola client.
Those players are pretty cool guys.

He has a shit ton of players and he usually delivers. Just the Donnarumma deal was a masterstoke, haha. He managed to get one of the best goalkeeper salaries AND get the other Donnarumma brother a contract worth million(s). It is pretty evident it is not only his payday Raiola is working for but his client interests (getting a job for your bro). Yet, the blame will often gets deflected to the agent.
