Good business. I like him but he's happy there and I doubt he's going to break in to our team. Mcatee probabyl same amount next and thats most of the Reijnders money sorted.

Oh well, im sure that would sell it him. Establish yourself at Ipswich as one of the most promising young strikers in the PL and then come back to City and sit on the bench for 75% of season as a reward.

This season, unfortunately, has proven his nadir.
As a club of our stature these days we just can't afford the risk, we need a HG who can contribute on a more regular basis.
Boulders is a Rolls Royce, but you only keep it while you can afford to run it.
Saudi would suit him in terms of stress on his body, and he'd get a nice payday which he deserves

I doubt that, I think some will go down giving more of a chance to youth.

I.e. If you join our Academy here at Crewe as opposed to City you’ll stand more chance of playing for the first team.

I know a kid got released from City and straight away loads of other clubs where interested as he had City training.
 
I never expected perrone will be sold for 25 mil. May be this is just a rumor or just how time has changed for city.

Mate of mine has a son at Bolton.
He talks about the City Academy, their style and the way the youngsters are so comfortable on the ball.
This is why our kids are in demand and will come, and go, but ultimately leave with the technical ability other clubs cry out for.

Fully agree…

Everyone highlights Cole Palmer as a huge error from City in letting him go and I can go along with that argument.

But at least that error is marketing in motion and encourages teams to buy from City.

It the commercial world it could be called a lost leader and some tolerance needs to be accepted.

Everytime a player does well who left City it emphasises we are the best academy in England.
 
£25m for a player most have forgotten about seems like good money on the face of it but he's had a good season and a repeat of that next year will see como selling him on for over double that.

What does £25m get you nowadays? We've just paid £30m bringing Reis here effectively for our academy for the time being. Seems like yet another who we've sold too cheap.

I sort of agree on Perrone to be fair. Has amazing underlying data and can easily see him moving in another year or two for 40m+. But I'm not as convinced that he'll ever make it as a difference maker for Manchester City, so I understand cashing in and giving the lad the move he wants. I was much more disappointed letting Palmer and Delap go because they had the exact profiles we needed this season.

I will have to disagree about selling lads too cheap. If you go over our list of outgoings, its remarkable how well we've timed our sales. Obviously a couple youngsters slipped through the cracks for low fees, but that's inevitable when we're so elite. And who's to say the lads like Brahim Diaz, Jerome Boateng, etc. would've reached the same levels if they never left. Palmer the only glaring miss, but that was a decent fee.
