Mayhem with MIBs at the game

If harpourhey/collyhurst/cheethamhill is exotic then fuck knows where you go on your jollies :-)
I was born in Collyhurst in 1965, lived in the old flats that were knocked down in the early/mid 70s. It was a poor area bsck then but with a strong tight knit community where people looked after their neighbours and everyone knew everyone. Then we moved to the new estate in Harpurhey as did a lot of the Collyhurst people from the flats or some went onto the Lightbowne estate on the edge of Moston and for about 15/20 years it was good as anywhere else and then like a lot of places it started going downhill.

When my parents both died almost 3 years ago the place was a complete mess, gangs of young drug dealers everywhere stabbings, shootings, stolen cars etc. and that tv series did nothing to help it. And yet I lived with my parents for 6 months whilst I cared for them and the local people around them were some of the best you could wish to meet who would put themselves out to help you in a time of need, just living on a shit council estate but damn good people amongst some real low life spoiling it for everyone else.

Ditto Salford,

Salt of the earth most folk and great sense of community, although probably a little less so with the amount of new faces, diversity of nationalities and beliefs. folk tend to stick to their own. But as with most places there’s diamonds and dickheads in the mud.

United are cowards. They were in the seventies and they are now. They can't fight sleep unless it's kicking kids
