Sunderland marks 120th birthday of Manchester City. West Brom 20 years since the kippax last stand.

1894 group offered to do card displays featuring 'kippax' and also '120' but club had a last minute change of heart as didn't fit in with their ideas of how atmosphere should develop towards end of season

we highlighted nothing wrong in highlighting anniversaries and having a fan led culture, certainly works at liverpool

maybe they will at some point acknowledge these anniversaries but we flagged it up months ago. they have agreed to try and build atmosphere to play doves pounding and boys in blue never give in in full before kick off next few games

they are plugging flags and inflatables like 1894 always does but we have asked them to relax criteria so stewards let people in with them

we are doing tickertape v wba and inflatables ourselves monday to give it a kippax st feel and also ticker v west ham. we are told can reuse the cards v west ham if message is more 'appropriate'

we will continue to work with the club but there are different levels of hierarchy at the club and we have asked for answers sooner so we can plan more with them. took us ages to save 1k to do card display that money could have been spent on other stuff last few home games. hopefully cards will still happen v west ham

Keep up the good work. Shame the club don't think it supportive re the 120 & Kippax anniversaries. As for appropriate message? What did you put up originally? Can't imagine it being "fuck off and die red scum" or summat?! :)

Went as a guest of my son to an 1894 meeting with the club prior to the United home game and lots of interesting ideas were brought up, you have to admire the lads in this group they are magnificent fans.

The subject of card displays was raised at the meeting and one of the group had a brilliant idea for the game with our near neighbours, he wanted a card on every seat that simply stated "IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN TEN", needless to say the Club representatives though that was not something they should lend their support to. What a pity it would have been superb.

unfortunately the felt the word 'kippax' would be inappropriate

We've come a long way....forget about our past apart from when its suits the 'Suits' and pile on the cheese.

I feel stuff like the HT Hugh Ferris shite is inappropraite etc.

If the club had a poll on Kippax cards or the HT crap I'd like to think the cards would win.

**Ferris is an easy target in this and his HT shit is just part of ther problems....

Bloody hell. That's bordering on the ridiculous.

Maybe a few choruses of "we are the Kippax" might be in order tonight?
