Hi, I know this has been covered many times before, I have searched but I can't find the topic, so..... I need your help, I have a rag mate (I know, I feel bad about that myself :( ) and he keeps saying the usual stuff about how we're trying to buy the league again with our new signings, I have said that ushited have been buying the league for years etc etc. But I would love to get an accurate list of our and there signings over the last 20 years or so, I know it exists somewhere. Can someone help?

Keep going Blues, I need as much ammunition as I can get against this guy!!!! He is a real rag, you know the type, never goes, always wears his rag shirt when they win or when City lose, I want to put him away with cold hard facts so keep them coming

Since 1992, they've spent £550m gross and £230m net whereas we've spent about £750m gross and £520m net. In the last 5 seasons the figures are they've spent £200m/£130m and we've spent £590m/£430m.

So doing the maths means that pre ADUG, they've spent £350m gross compared to our £160m. Net, the spend is £100m for them and £90m for us but £40m of that net spend was the Shinawatra season.

However simple quoting the actual monetary figures isn't entirely accurate. Back in 1992 how much exactly would it have cost to sign someone with the ability of a Negredo, or a Jovetic? It sure as hell wouldn't have cost £25m. "Football Inflation" needs to be considered.

Mate, if he doesn't go, wears the shirt when they win or City lose etc, then he aint worth argueing with!
My dad once told me "Never argue with an idiot...he'll drag you down to he's level then, beat you on experiance!!" ;-)
