I note that he references the laws of the game regarding VK's post-match comments, but doesn't at all when considering what the ref might have thought, almost none of which pertain to the laws. Oh and then throw in a couple of paragraphs about what a great guy VK is. Dreadful piece.

Chuck in Critchley picking at anything minor (hey, look! intelligent fouling!) but not a word on the lack of ideas emanating from Liverpool.

It won't happen. Next season's Champions League competition won't even be able to take place without us, barring the long-drawn out legal challenges which would ensue from us.

We would earn more in damages than winning the thing for the next three years.

It wasn't that bad. Worst thing was not knowing what goal average meant (goals for divided by goals against, which rewarded bus parkers).
 
Guardian today has a piece on Lovren's thoughts and a whole silly two page spread about the thin margins (1 cm and the maybe slight deflection on Sane's shot).

The fuss over Stones's clearance is a bit odd - he prevented another freak Pool goal - but it reminded me of the old joke about the bloke who runs down the steps to the platform just as his train pulls out and starts swearing at the porter. "What's the matter?" "I just missed the train by ten seconds." "You're making so much fuss I thought you'd missed it by ten minutes."

I didn't notice that, I just glossed over it as one of his usual "aren't I clever" asides (cf Matthew Syed).
 
Them red twats are not only the TV game on BT they are also the commentary game on BOTH 5 live and talkshite. There are 6 other FA cup ties being played at the moment. There's some knob commentator on talkshite getting animated about their game and alan green and phil fookin' neville on 5 live

Why's it lucky for City that Stones's clearance was 1cm from going in but not lucky for Liverpool that he had to in the first place, given the circumstances?

Exactly! I don’t remember all the fuss about their offside goals or about the sane goal at ours that was onside because Milner passed him the bal! All we hear about is none stop moaning about a ball that hadn’t crossed the line or when our keeper had his head nearly taken off. Why do the media pander to this shit stain of a club?
