If you don't see the racism in football, and my biggest disappointment in the debate is that this isn't raised. Think about this about 3.5% of the population Afro/Caribbean, about 4% are British Indian/Pakistan. Yet show me the Asian England footballer, or the asian premier league footballer. They are as common as openly gay footballers.
I don't see that at all because I believe that black and mixed race footballers in the premier league are OVER represented by your yardstick, should we just stick to percentages then and stick to the demographics of the nation as a whole?

Or that Raheem is newsworthy.The use of that picture in that context is not racist but it is another example of the relentless persecution of Sterling.

Perhaps you can help mate, show me an example of where this has been done before? A pic of a member of the winning side ( newsworthy players included) with his head in his hands as the headline illustration in the match report.
The problem is,rightly or wrongly,that Raheem has a reputation for being a flash git,so when he denies that tag and accuses the media of being racist and out to get him.......then of course they are going to jump all over him when he comes a cropper by doing something that would support their claim.
I don't think there has been a similar scenario to call upon?

There is a way these things are done, to step away from that for one particular player is persecution.
