58 fucking pages and the season hasn’t begun yet. We're not in danger of becoming a bunch of whinging mard-arses: we’re already there. For fuck’s sake, turn it and quit micro-reading every single fucking article. If this thread were on any other fans’ forum we’d (rightly) be calling it out. It’s shite.

To see bias in action, just have a gander at the main BBC Sport Football page.

Fair enough they've got a story about us beating Real Madrid (which I really didn't expect) but nothing about the rags losing to Barcelona. In fact the only rag match-related story is about their youth team beating Co Armagh in some Northern Ireland competition.

Talk about burying bad news.

This forum has been good training for being widely disliked in my professsional career.
I'm sure you said in the first 3/4 pages of this thread that you weren't getting involved this season, Frank.
I guess the need to show all those blues with grievances that they're chatting shite is just too strong to stop.

Why read ithe then ? Tbh the only bit I think that was worth commenting on was the TS bit about back door payments to players, 99% of it I treat as a bit of fun.

Apart from those bastards at the MUEN, sorry oakie couldn't resist ;-)

The only debate that should exist on media bias is how much of it there is, not whether it exists.

It's a proven fact that we get an unfair crack of the whip from the press but then again, if the Sheikh would have bought Everton instead of us then I have no doubt that they'd be getting it in the neck like us aswell.

It's more to do with pondering to the pro-United and Liverpool masses than any anti-City agenda.

That said, I don't know what people expect. You don't need assurance from Mark Ogden or Jamie Carragher to see how well or shite City have been, you can see it for yourself.

Then again it all depends on a persons preference. Someone posted a summary of Ogden's match report for City against Madrid and noticed there were more negatives than positives. If there is that much room for improvement after beating Madrid 4-1 then that's a daunting prospect for the rest of Europe! And it's a far bigger backhanded compliment that if he was gushing about us.

Like a moth to the flame Pablo1. In fairness it has all been quite good natured and just like the forum should be. I do not think its all shite and certain individuals give us bad press but today has been a positive day.

We do love a positive day, mate.

Aye but our match report then discusses how much weve spent then how important it was for the rags to lose to barca ycnmiu ffs

I absolutely agree with this BUT I do feel that one or 2 posters come across as slightly smug when trying to negate the arguments that those of us who feel there is a bias. Now there have been so many comments made about media bias that surely those who say there isnt have got to think why do so many people feel that way are they all wrong?

As has been said so many times before whether it is bias for one team or bias against another I am sure we can all agree that there is an imbalance in how the media on different clubs. Now we can surely understand why a url with Ronaldo- United-Transfer will generate alot of clicks and basically that is what our media has got to.....clickbait

Is it annoying yes, do we feel it more bearing in mind that our noisy neighbours gain the biggest benefit from that imbalance probably but as Ric says we have to learn to pick our battles as whilst Sky and News Corporation do what they do us railing and ranting shouting "its not fair" over every perceived imbalance will just make us look slightly small time as they will not change as its the only thing they have got

The way to change the view and attitude of the media is with sustained success as then it will be in their interests to write positive articles
There is a bias and my main gripe is having to put right fans of other clubs that believe all the shite they write about us

People rightly call out bias as it's nothing to do with whinging, more so a recognition that there is a need to change people's perception about this club.

If it's not called out, the perception would never change. What you are suggesting is that if you ignore something long enough; it goes away. Well it doesn't if it gets clicks from opposition fans who don't recognise bias unless called out or choose to ignore it because football is tribal.

Bias and Agenda's are two different things.

The most cringeworthy thing on here is the cup draws and hot/vibrating balls. The amount of blues who think this is what happens to stop us is fuckin staggering.

One example was Ian Wright & Steven Gerrard drawing us out for West Ham away. Instantly on here. Fuckin agenda, corrupt ****s. Another away match the FA have stitched us up on

I actually asked how do Wright and Gerrard fit into this agenda. Was met with they were generously paid to stop us.

I mean just WTF. This is the shit where other club fans take the piss out of us

No one doubts the bias of Ogden, Bates, Jackson & Mcdonnel and the other Rag sycophants. They are fair play to have a pop at.

Not a f***ing chance of a Media level playing field.

We might as well accept the on-going, never to change situation and move on.

Today's Daily Fail online football page.

In order of articles.

The first article is the headline article.

The rest are further down the page.

The last article is so far down the page it isn't worth finding.

*The 2nd article is all you need to know about the Daily Fail and the bullshit it comes up with to create a fake United headline article/story*. Please!

Do they actually believe it though? And if so are they not just the easily led and is there any point in correcting them are wanting there acceptance.

Do you remember when we use to dine out on prawn sandwiches, all your fans are from london and the press use to reference it. Did you believe it? Its just banter at the end of the day, nothing more nothing lezs.

People raise this sh*t about the media because it matters. There's a reason big business spend billions of pounds on advertising and PR because it influences views and behaviour. There's a reason that online businesses 's are now spending hundreds of millions to make sure that an online experience reflects you as an individual - so that they can influence you to buy. Why? Because the analytical evidence is overwhelming to demonstrate that this stuff actually makes a difference to how we humans behave and what we do. Deny it as much as you like but the evidence is there and unequivocal.

That is why I rage about the press that we get, the negative PR, spin continually put against City because it influences how people think about the club. It's one of the primary reasons why our recent success hasn;'t translated to an increase in fan base in the UK in the same way as it has in the rest of the world, and why we still get Emptihad jibes. If the PR were another way you would never see an empty seat at City given the talent and entertainment on show.

I can't help but believe that the MEN are simply very naive in what they do. They have this self fulfilling prophecy mentality, you can imagine the discussion.

'Boss, we put rag articles on and it generates much more views than City' so we need to promote the rags to get the hits we need'

No sh*t sherlock, that's because you continually promote those articles at the top of a page. If the MEN were any good at this stuff they would actually understand from my browsing behaviour that I'm actually a City fan - so make those articles easier for me to read you imbeciles you would still get the rag masses but then you wouldn't lose me aho would rather stab myself in the eye than read a rag article - that might kill a lot of the noise we see on here - and vastly increase their online views (and advertising revenues)

My Twitter feed reads like a City fanzine, why? because I'm very discerning about who I follow and as a result I very rarely see any of teh rag sh*te - that's what the MEN should be doing for me, but they're too thick to realise and instead just promote rag articles to me and I close down the page.
