refs have in effect formed their own company and have been leased by the premier league to officiate.ok-the premier league seem to have little if any regulation in the performance of these officials

Ah right, sorry. Yes, it doesn’t fill you with confidence when refs are being monitored by ex-refs. That said, they’re not shy about putting the boot in via the media so maybe it’s not quite the cosy cartel you might think.

The mouthy ex refs in the media are the disgruntle ones not on the PGMoL gravy train though

the thing is we had a player that could have been very badly hurt.At least one of the three officials saw this clearly and could make views known. Its either incompetence or working to orders

Certainly seems odd that the eagle-eyed linesman who spotted an “offside” for Bernardo’s goal completely missed a red card offence.

Admittedly in real-time on TV I’d assumed it was a cynical trip rather than a potential leg breaker, but presumably at least two of the officials should have had a better view of the incident.

When even Ogden is condemning them, you know Cardiff overstepped the mark:

Have to say that’s a n excellent piece especially from someone like Ogden, the response from Warnock sums up English football in the dark ages “we’re in England you expect challenges like that”staggeringly shocking comments from Warnock but are we surprised sums up everything that’s been wrong with the game in England if you can’t beat them kick the fuck out of them...

It's good to see the media are getting the message and not fobbing the issue off in the "foreign coach doesn't get English football" manner, as it would have been in the past. Pep conducts himself well and is being taken seriously by the media.

I bet Colin is on with Boiled Bollck in the morning setting the agenda of how the games going soft over tackling.

Joey Barton has this morning suggested that a) pep should know what to expect b) we should just got spend another 80m to replace sane c) he hasn't seen it but when he has seen sane he's been a bit mouthy so maybe Bennett was after him cos of that and d) we don't want a non contact sport so don't know what pep is moaning about

No surprise there then. One thug defending another thug and a mindset that has set this country back donkeys years at international level. The jolly old "Get stuck into them!" doesn't work there because blind ref's with this mentality like Mason aren't there and when we apply this philosophy we are punished.

Instead of all these moron's trying to defend this outdated ineffective style of playing and decrying "Uppity Johnny foreigner Pep" they should be begging him to spend time with the FA and implementing his style and methods nationwide.

And people wonder why England are shit internationally.
