Sky Sports News really is turning into a parody. Almost to The Day Today levels. Their latest headline

"CIVIL WAR IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE"
Sky are loving all this. From the ESL announcement to the latest bollocks. Gives them something to discuss instead of the usual inane drivel. Bit like deadline day.

I see what people are saying though.

Look at the state of the Bundesliga. How much as it helped the league stay competitive? 9 in a row.

Look at Bayern and Qatar, despite none of the fans wanting anything to do with Qatar. Where did that vote go?
The Bundesliga is heavily subsidised the last time I read about it. No way will that happen here, so owners may have to put up more money than German counter parts. What's so great about Eurooean leagues?

I got an email from the Football Supporters Alliance? It is full of the same sort of insincere shite the media have been coming out with.
Sol l sent a snotty e mail asking why like the media they were totally unable to see the elephantine manoeuvring of the Redshirts and had so quickly forgotten the hateful 8/9 trying to influence a court of law and to change the Premier League just a short time ago.
A bit of a rant which they will ignore probably but I did enjoy having a go.

Schalke despite having a lot more income than other 14 to 15 clubs in Germany have been relegated. That does not have anything to do with 50+1 but with bad management...

You cannot pin that on the 50+1 model. And getting rid of the 50+1 model does not solve the "German problems" either.
Ok so Schalke are like Sunderland but what are the positives of the 50+1 rule? Bayern have won eight titles in a row and no one can compete with them. There must be something fundamentally wrong with German football. Leipzig come along and everyone hates them because they invest and try to compete at the highest level. But no one can compete with Bayern if they are not allowed to invest significantly (at least for a short period of time) It is a one-team cartel.
I used to love German football. Cheap tickets, great atmospheres, German beer. I have been to many games in Germany and still watch a lot on TV. It used to be on a par with English club football but the standard now is much lower than the Premier League.

Only one really. Dortmund was actually bailed out by Bayern at one stage. Dortmund is just a feeder club. German football has been destroyed by Bayern's stranglehold on investors. Schalke with 60,000 crowds have just been relegated. The 50 plus one model would destroy English football by making it impossible to invest. They have a different fan ownership model in Spain which has ensured domination by Barca and Real for decades and creamed off most of the money.
Thank you.
