Sky reached a new low for yesterdays biased coverage.
Never heard so much fuss over a yellow card that was not given. If only they were as concerned with the conduct of McTominay, Robertson, Kane, Mané every big match, they might be able to form some sort of excuse for it: Commentary: "He should be off", half time: "he should be off the pitch, City are lucky", they spent ages driving the message across. Then they finally add a bit of balance to cover their backs in commentary during the second half (and post match), with a passing comment of: "Would he have made the second foul if he got a yellow for the first one?" As if that shouldn't have been the immediate reply to Neville in commentary and at half time. They had to say it at full time, considering how Laporte managed the second half and his comments at full time about knowing he needed to be more careful because of the yellow card. Although, it was like they were admitting it through gritted teeth.
That all felt very deliberate to me, even though Spurs should have been the whipping boys, due to their FULL involvement in the ESL plans, it appears as though Sly aren't even going to attempt to hide their agenda anymore. The only thing Spurs got was what seemed like a slip up from Tyler by referring to City as a big club as if they are not, which Neville was quick to correct with: "I thought Spurs were a big club". Made me laugh that, probably cost him his bonus.
As for Redknapp's no history comment after the game, why didn't Micha interrupt with a quick-jokey: "You wouldn't be saying that if Summerbee was in the room Jamie. In fact, I think he's probably here today, shall I text him? He wont mind popping on for a bit".
