Reminds me of the time when Moyes defended his United team's woeful 2-2 home draw with Fulham by pointing out that they'd put in 81 crosses. Fulham had 6 foot 7 Dan Burn at centre back and only 18 of those 81 crosses reached a team mate. The 21 year old novice Burn cleared 22 of them himself.

Sounds like klipperty need to get Moyes on board.

Jordan banging on about a wage cap when in fact we had a way of strangling wages and control at clubs in premier it was premiership ffp rules.

Read this it shows the initial rules in 2013.

Here’s a snippet of it>>

“Regarding the salary control restrictions, only a £4m increase in the wage bill for PL clubs will be allowed. If a PL club spends more than an additional £4m on wages from the previous season, the additional wage cost can only be funded by increased commercial revenues that the club has made during that season.”

Lol it could be a dead heat then, theoretically
The Manchester Evening News suggested a play off - they also mentioned that there were other methods such as head to head - and then even broke that down with further rules, which wouldn't apply as we had two 2-2 draws.

The thing is, while it looks possible, has there ever been a tie for ANY position in the Premier League? With all the variables it would still be really, really unlikely for it to line up on the final day, even when we're so close.

So they are suggesting a change of the competition rules during the actual competition to suit their desired outcome?

That would be unprecedented... Oh, wait, no it f*cking isn't because they've change the handball rules mid-competition more times than I care to remember... and don't get me started on that.

Lol!

Michael Gove has said there will be no emergency budget this summer – insisting that the issue was “no big deal” despite the mounting cost of living crisis.

No. I think they're saying the rules are different to the page on the PL site (which hasn't even been updated with our win last year). They quote the Premier League rule book.

Looks like the MEN are right: https://resources.premierleague.com...e6e1/PL_Handbook_2021_22_DIGITAL_29.11.21.pdf
