Fair comment. One thing you have to give Liverpool is their resilience. They are a team that always comes back off he ropes. It happens too often to be dismissed as luck. After the first 20 minutes today they looked leggy but they kept going for 120 minutes. Chelsea should have finished them but Liverpool were mentally stronger.

It was not just a question of mental strength, but also of Chelsea’s attacking inadequacies. In the first 15 mins of the second half, Chelsea dominated possession but appeared unwilling or unable to make it count. Lots of pointless passes, many backwards, and no decisive action in the centre. Lukaku was just a useless donkey. A sharper team would have scored then.

True, but back to back home matches against Brighton and then Watford should have provided that respite. Anyway it has gone now, just a shame two years on the bounce we have got so far and then rested players.

City are in transition looking for the right players as replacements. We had a small squad this season, lost Mendy and Torres and have been hit with injuries at critical times.

We can have opinions about the tweaking but Pep is the manager for good reason. What has been lacking are matchwinners like Sergio who can score out of nothing. A winning mentality is everything.

Ffs. In the comments section of the telegraphs report of the final, some disgusting cow has complained that a song was sung before the match. The song was to raise awareness of Sickle Cell Anemia. As far as this cow knows that only effects black people and worse, it was sung by a black choir. Then to make matters worse the national anthem was sung, wait for it..... by a black women. Oh and the players took the knee.
Doesn't say if she was Chelsea or dipper but to see posts like that in 2022 is disgraceful.
