Liverpool's club clown, pigeon kicker and pisscan has been properly riled haha. Well done to whoever was behind this account.

When he says ",Thinks he’s a smart arse,He won’t be for too long" that reads pretty much as a threat or warning to me. Typical of the manic mentality of these Scouse fans, it's the thing that causes them to scale scaffolding, throw bottles, climb fences, fight and be generally feral

It does feel Orwellian. It is really bizarre that no one in the media is prepared to report what happened in an impartial way. It is pretty clear that the police and UEFA bungled the security operation. But it also pretty clear there was an issue with fake tickets at the Liverpool end of the stadium. The French Government claim that 40,000 fake tickets were used to try and access the stadium seems very unlikely but that doesn't mean there wasn't an issue with some fake tickets. The Liverpool Echo reported three days before the match that police had smashed a fake ticketing operation and a man was arrested in Cheshire. We have all seen video footage of LFC fans climbing into the stadium (separate to the local youths) and social media claims of fans' jibbing in with fake tickets. Why is this being ignored?
40,000 does seem high but when there are images knocking round on social media of 250 ticket bundles of fakes it was obviously being done on an industrial scale. 40,000 tickets equates to 160 bundles of 250 tickets and at £100.00 a pop (maybe more) it's a minimum of £4,000,000, with printing and distribution costs a tiny fraction of that.

The people selling these fakes don't give a f*ck if they work. They just want mugs to part with their money, and there would be little or no comeback. Easy money for any organised gang.

Conn's joined the race to the bottom in football journalism. In fact, he's become the Usain Bolt of football journalists in that respect.

He used to be one of the very few who did dig out uncomfortable facts that the mainstream either couldn't be bothered to look for, or knew and wilfully ignored. He did more than any other journalist to highlight the lies and cover-ups over Hillsborough.

Back in 2012, when united were about to float on the NYSE, I came across some information that suggested they'd pulled a fast one, and were using accounts that shouldn't have been used to provide potentially misleading financial information to investors. The accounts they should've used wouldn't have been quite as flattering.

I spoke to him about it and we spent the best part of a day pulling it together. He ran it, and united had to issue a statement saying their next accounts would show a worse position, plus the float price had to be dropped by $2. No one else would have taken on and run that story; only him.

(Here it is: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2012/jul/10/manchester-united-accounts-share-offer?CMP=gu_com)

Then he got our FFP case hopelessly wrong and I started to suspect he was acting under instructions. That was (for me) proven beyond doubt when he picked up my tweet about the key evidence presented in the New York court, to support the Open Skies case against the three Gulf Airlines. I was miffed that he didn't contact me but at least it finally got aired.

The next day he'd changed his story completely and I can only imagine he'd been told, in no uncertain terms, that the truth, based on actual documentary evidence, didn't fit the media narrative. After all, we know the Guardian, for all their liberal credentials, are closet racists where Muslim Arabs involved in football are concerned.

Had Conn come out in respect of Saturday's events and said that everyone involved - UEFA, the clubs and the fans - needed to have a good look at themselves then I'd have regained some respect for him. But UEFA, who were their allies during the CAS case, are now the enemy. It's so Orwellian.
It's hard to believe that this is the same man who wrote 'The Beautiful Game'.

PB. Excellent contribution as per usual. How do you make a living as an establishment journo these days without selling your soul? Do you think we will ever see a move to return to factual, independent journalism or has it died forever?

Yep, Aldridge drunkenly trying to incite a pile-on/doxxing of what turned out to be a long running spoof journalist account, whose sole aim is to rile the unsuspecting, says all you need to know about him

His sudden U-turn and ethical flip-flopping on whether or not UEFA is an institution that should be respected and believed is quite the volte-face.
Did he honestly think we had all forgotten the article where he hysterically likened City’s justified defence of what turned out to be groundless accusations, to the hostile and fake news fuelled disrespect for fine and upstanding European institutions shown by extreme elements of the Leave campaign during Brexit?
But now UEFA are crooks and liars when it is not City but his new friends down the M62 on the receiving end?
The man is a clown

Excellent post as usual, it is a pity the media do not follow your example.

"To get a better picture of events. Sky News has obtained videos from Liverpool Supporters showing the long queues fans had to endure, and Police pepper spraying sections of the crowd..."

That's like asking Jimmy Savile to offer his "home videos" to defend himself.
