There appears to be no Editorial control over Roan. He is allegedly the "Sports Editor for BBC News" whatever that means. He seems to flit around the world reporting things based on his own political prejudices. Today he has gone with a film crew to get 30 seconds of footage of the Newcastle United boss at a Pro-Am golf event.
Why isn't he in Switzerland covering the fraud trial of Platini and Blatter which opened today? This is the criminal case after CAS rejected Platini's appeal against his ban. So in this case CAS were the good guys. The media, especially the BBC, portrayed CAS as the bad guys when they cleared City and overturned our ban. Mind you I am sure Roan will get a nice lavish free lunch today at the Centurion Golf Club in Herts. Another example of the fearless journalism we have grown to expect from the BBC these days.
He certainly won't be behind Russian lines asking random genocidal maniacs what they think of Putin ruining Ukrainian football.

Dan Roan - let me remind everyone what this 'cockroach' said after the death of Leicester owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha

Roan was overheard saying: “The mistress who died in the crash … otherwise known as a member of staff … ie mistress.

“If you were a billionaire, it’s relatively expected, so we shouldn’t judge.”

The fact he wasn't instantly sacked for this gross statement tells you everything you need to know about him and his bosses.

Just watching the 2014 LC win over Sunderland on Sly, after Ferna leaving there isn’t a single player of that team left at the club

That goal by Yaya, one of the best I’ve seen at Wembley. When it left his boot I turned to my brother asking him why he was shooting from there, I looked a bit stupid a split second later. Nazri straight after as well, Wembley went mental.

Yeah, that was special. I was right behind the goal about 4 rows back watching the game though a sea of players when the ball came arching in like a missile. Absolutely stunning strike.
