Meeting Up In Town

Due to unforseen circumstances (daughter remembers she's invited to a sleepover starting at 6.00PM tonight - at 5PM tonight!!) I'm going to have to get dropped off in Manchester about 10.45 rather than outside ground at 12.15. Am planning to have a couple of drinks then get the tram to Warwick Road.

Any suggestions for a good pub that early - or better ideas than the tram?
