Benjamin Mendy has been ordered to self-isolate after a relative came down with respiratory problems at his home in Cheshire. Paramedics in hazmat suits dashed into his property today at around 11am. [@SunSport]

Benjamin Mendy is understood to have been at home when they arrived. It is not yet known if he or his family member has COVID-19, however the relative is undergoing tests.

Benjamin Mendy has now been ruled out of Saturday’s Premier League clash with Burnley, after Manchester City ordered the defender to self-isolate following the COVID-19 scare at his home in Cheshire.

A #ManCity spokeswoman: “The club can confirm that a family member of a Men’s team player is in hospital with respiratory illness symptoms. The individual has undergone tests, one is for Covid-19. Until results, the player is self-isolating as a precaution.”

“It’s a worrying time for Ben [Mendy] and his family. No one is taking any risks though and City has asked him to stay at home and are offering him all the support they can...”

“He’s a very popular member of the squad and everyone hopes his loved one is okay and makes a full recovery. If they do have coronavirus, City will follow all the necessary guidelines and medical advice and do their best to help Benjamin.”

Oh dear, this is just the start. Saw him in a training video Wednesday, so now all the other players might be at risk. Game off on Saturday?

I hope he's alright.

If true then thats our game at the weekend cancelled, he's been with players and staff this week.
