Off abroad soon so need to waste away some hours in the sun :)
So can you give me some opinions on which is the best read.
Football with a smile or The worst of friends ?
I'm biased but "Football With A Smile" is factual, the other book is a novel.
I spent an awful long time interviewing people from all parts of Joe's life and spent many, many hours researching the book.
The new version will be out at the end of April (but secondhand copies of the earlier version are still knocking around) and can still be ordered for £15 from http://www.manchesterfootball.org (price on publication will be £19.95).
The new version will include 16 pages of colour photos as well as an updated/revised story.
Obviously, "Joe Mercer, OBE: Football With A Smile" covers Joe Mercer's entire life, whereas the other book is a fictional account of Joe's time at City.
