How come we got relegated with Quinn, Rosler, Flitcroft and Lomas then? Not just Ball's fault. Gio flopped at Ajax and dis nothing special in a good Jim Smith Derby team.
This garbage annoys me. Mr anonoymous especially away from home in the Championship.
The reason Kinkladze 'flopped' at Ajax was because he was signed as a replacement for Jari Litmanen. Problem was, his proposed move to Barcelona fell through and Kinkladze ended up being played out of position on the left hand side of midfield as apposed to an attacking midfielder/second striker.
Kinkladze couldn't keep City up on his own, no matter how much he tried. If you have Martin 'Buster' Philips missing open goals v Sheffield Wednesday after Kinkladze had done all the hard work and laid it on a plate for him, he can't be held responsible.
Kinkladze is still the best player I have seen in a City shirt. I have wonderful memories of him. Newcastle at home, Oxford away, West Ham in the Cup and the solo goal v Southampton.
