Just watched Micah's documentary on Racism in football which I found a really interesting watch.
Being a white, able bodied, heterosexual male I'm not going to pretend I experience the same prejudice as others in society to start off.
Richards may not be at the same intellectual level as Kompany or Onuoha, 2 ex players who have been pundits recently (mind you they are both 'super intelligent') and I dont know how much of the documentary he had actually written?
However i personally feel he came accross really well in the documentary, really do
wn to earth and asking some really good questions and covering some very valid, thought provoking points.
There is a lot less 'direct'' racism at matches than in the 70s/80s but it obviously unfortunately is still a much bigger issue than a lot of people realise
(especially with all the 'brave' keyboard warriors out there).
On a side note although the fact he was a blue was largely irrelevant as it was about Racism, there were a couple of little 'nods' to his City connections. The young lad (at his old school?) who knew he set up Sergio's first City goal and the banter with Ratboy was quite funny ....(wasn't too keen on the backdrop to that interview if I'm honest though!!)
