Micah

Actually i thought he was pretty solid, and got forwards well. Let Duff in once and almost gave away a penalty i suppose, but other than that...

first touch was clumsy, wasnt tracking back, his pace seemed off.

nothing we haven't been saying for the whole season to be honest.

its a shame as he has such potential.

i think if he wants to play right back, he needs to put in a better account of himself.

Against Wigan he defended well but looked like a rabbit in the headlight in the opposition half. He defended poorly tonight, nowhere near tight enough on his man and allowed him plenty of opportunity to cross, a few decent touches going forwar though.

Micah, Sweep and Zab could develop a good understanding on that side given a run of games though.

Can anyone work out in what order MH is picking Micah, the Zaballama, and Nedum. Is he say starting with Zab and saying I need him there so someone else will have to play there, or has Nedum's form made him move Micah? Has Micah made any recent comments about where he prefers playing?

He always tends to look a bit lost when attacking, but so what, he is a defender and he did ok tonight, still not back to his usual self yet but getting better!

Micah once said he felt he could play in any position. Whilst that speaks of confidence and versatility it also indicates that even he is not fully comfortable with a specific role.

He has pace and strength but he needs to find that missing ingredient that gives that extra dimension. Then he will know where he is comfortable.

I thought he made some good runs tonight. he has a tendency to lumber back in to position if he goes forward for a set piece, which he has always done. The problem with Micah is that since that Villa cup game everything has seemed to come easy, culminating in him playing and scoring for England. I was really puzzled when Sven played him at CH last season. Although he was good in the air, to me he lacked the positional sense to play there. I believe his pace got him out of bad positioning.

This season like many fans I think he has bulked up too much and lost his spring and a yard of pace. I know he denies this, but I hope the management take him aside and get him too do less weights on his upper body because I think he is naturally strong and doesn't need to bulk up.

Micah wants to play RB but when more players come in I think Hughes will have Zab and Micah battle for that spot. If that's the case, Zab wins hands down as he can effectively join the attack with crosses and shots...something Micah is yet to do with confidence.

That being said, I thought Micah did have a good game tonight (bar the penalty shout which we were lucky not to concede).
